I am an assistant professor in philosophy at Vassar College. I earned my PhD in Philosophy with a concentration in Cognitive Science at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in September, 2020.
I work on empirically informed philosophy of emotion. My research draws on work from feminist theory to neuropsychology to explain how affective states work both inside and beyond an individual. This includes questions about how minds like ours are able to value things the way we do, intentionality and consciousness, and what emotions can teach us about social systems.
When I’m not doing philosophy, I enjoy hiking (city and wilderness alike), running, and sharing beautiful food.
